Demand lifts sugar prices
Sugar prices gained by ₹10-20 at Vashi on improved local demand amid fear of lower sell quota for the month of July. On Thursday evening about 18 mills sold about 50,000 bags at ₹2,930-2,990 for S-grade and ₹2,980-3,090 for M-grade. On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates were: S-grade ₹3,060-3,231 and M-grade ₹3,070-3,400. Naka delivery rates were: S-grade ₹3,050– 3,120 and M-grade ₹3,120-3,200.
