Sugar prices up on robust demand, restricted arrivals

Sugar mill gate prices improved by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today on immense buying by stockists and bulk consumers amid restricted supplies.

Marketmen said brisk buying by stockists and bulk consumers, coupled with halt in supplies from mills mainly supported the upside in sweetener prices.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices rose by Rs 15 each to end the day at Rs 3,350-3,525 and Rs 3,340-3,525 per quintal, respectively.

In the mill gate section, sugar Khatuli, Dhampur and Modinagar gained by Rs 15 each to settle at Rs 3,525, Rs 3,380 and Rs 3,425 per quintal, respectively.

Prices of Dhanora and Anupshaher also advanced by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 3,485 and Rs 3,370 per quintal.

Following are today’s quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets – Rs 36.00-39.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,560-3,750, S-30 Rs 3,550-3,740.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,350-3,535, S-30 Rs 3,340-3,525.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,445, Kinnoni Rs 3,535, Asmoli Rs 3,495, Dorala Rs 3,445, Budhana Rs 3,440, Thanabhavan Rs 3,435, Dhanora Rs 3,485, Simbholi Rs 3,485, Khatuli Rs 3,525, Dhampur Rs 3,380, Ramala Rs 3,370, Anupshaher Rs 3,370, Baghpat Rs 3,380, Morna Rs 3,375, Sakoti Rs 3,400, Chandpur Rs 3,350, Nazibabad Rs 3,370, Modinagar 3,425, Shamli 3,465, and Nanota 3,365.
