Sugar prices slip on ample stocks

Sugar prices fell by Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on ample stock position on constant supplies amidst slackened buying by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said mounting stocks in the market following non-stop supplies from mills amid muted buying by stockists as well as bulk consumers, led to fall in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices weakened by Rs 20 each to end the day at Rs 3,950-4,100 and Rs 3,940-4,090 per quintal.

Sugar Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also traded lower by 15 each to Rs 3,615-3,825 and Rs 3,605-3,815 per quintal.

In the mill gate section, sugar Asmoli, Thanabhavan, Dorala,Khatuli and Sakoti all declined by Rs 20 each to conclude at Rs 3,810, Rs 3,750, Rs 3,770, Rs 3,805 and Rs 3,730 per quintal.

Prices of Kinnoni, Budhana, Ramala, Chandpur, Nazibabad and Nanota also eased by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,825, Rs 3,760, Rs 3,620, Rs 3,665 and rest both at Rs 3,620 each per quintal.

Sugar retail markets – Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,950-4,100, S-30 Rs 3,940-4,090.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,615-3,825, S-30 Rs 3,605-3,805.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,825, Asmoli Rs 3,810, Dorala Rs 3,770, Budhana Rs 3,760, Thanabhavan Rs 3,750, Dhanora Rs N.Q., Simbholi Rs N.Q, Khatuli Rs 3,805, Dhampur Rs 3,700, Ramala Rs 3,620, Anupshaher Rs 3,615, Baghpat Rs 3,645, Morna Rs 3,640, Sakoti Rs 3,730, Chandpur Rs 3,665, Nazibabad Rs 3,620, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli N.Q., and Nanota 3,620.
