Sugar prices rise on brisk demand, thin supply

Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 50 per at the wholesale market in the national capital today following strong demand amid restricted arrivals.

Marketmen said besides tight supplies, heavy buying by stockists and bulk consumers mainly pushed up sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices hardened by Rs 50 to finish the day at Rs 3,480-3,690 and Rs 3,470-3,680 per 

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also rose Rs 20 each to Rs 3,215-3,435 and Rs 3,205-3,425 per 

In the millgate section, sugar Chandpur rose Rs 40 to Rs 3,300, Khatuli spurted Rs 35 to Rs 3,420, Dorala and Simbholi gained Rs 30 each to Rs 3,350 and Rs 3,400 per

Sugar – Rs 35.00-38.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,480-3,690, S-30 Rs 3,470-3,680.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,215-3,435, S-30 Rs 3,205-3,425.
