Sugar declines on low demand

Prices of both the varieties of declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small (S-30) went down by Rs 20/50 per quintal to Rs 3,120/3,242 from Monday’s closing level of Rs 3,140/3,292.

Medium (M-30) also fell by Rs 34 per quintal to Rs 3,176/3,442 per quintal as compared to its yesterday’s level of Rs 3,210/3,442.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,120/3,242 (Rs 3,140/3,292).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,176/3,442 (Rs 3,210/3,442).
