Over 51 lakh units of power supplied by sugar mills in Haryana

More than 51.17 lakh units of electricity have so far been supplied by two cooperative sugar mills to state power utilities in Haryana during the current crushing season. Stating this here today, an official spokesman said that while Rohtak sugar mill supplied over 27.82 lakh units, Shahbad cooperative sugar mill supplied over 23.34 lakh units of electricity.

Sugar prices continued to decline on back of selling pressure from producers. Prices at Vashi dropped further by₹30-40 a quintal in line with lower prices at naka level. 75 mills starts cane crushing in current season

The Uttar Pradesh government today said that cane crushing has started in 75 sugar mills as compared to 37 mills last year. "After directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for ensuring timely operation of sugar mills, Cane Department has succeeded in starting of cane crushing in 75 sugar mills whereas only 37 Sugar mills operated last year till this day," Commissioner Cane, Sanjay Bhoosreddy said.

Sugar futures down 1.81% on adequate stocks position

Sugar prices moved down by 1.81 per cent to Rs 3,250 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposure, triggered by ample stocks at spot market against lower demand. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in December drifted down by Rs 60, or 1.81 per cent to Rs 3,250 per quintal with an open interest of 200 lots.
