Medium sugar rises in lacklustre trade
Medium sugar prices rose in an otherwise lackustre Vashi wholesale market today following firm demand from stockists and retailers.
Small sugar held stable in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.
Medium sugar (M-30) moved up by Rs 12 per quintal to Rs 2,862/3,012 from Wednesday’s closing level of Rs 2,850/3,012.
Small sugar (S-30) closed unchanged at Rs 2,770/2,842 per quintal.
Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,770/2,842 (Rs 2,770/2,842).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,862/3,012 (Rs 2,850/3,012).
