Selling pressure dissolves sugar

MUMBAI, MARCH 19

Sugar prices remained depressed at the Vashi market on less demand due to continuous selling pressure from mills. Maharashtra’s mills sold the commodity at 30 lower on Saturday. Naka rates were steady.Arrivals at Vashi declined to 58-60 truck loads and local dispatches were at 55-56 loads. On Saturday evening, 15-16 mills offered tenders and sold about 28,000-30,000 bags at 2,850-2,930 for S-grade and 2,960-3,050 for M-grade. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade 3,055-3,162 and M-grade 3,156-3,352. Naka delivery rates: S-grade 3,000-3,090 and M-grade 3,085-3,175.
